For details of our events please see our main BISC Calendar.
Our main activity is small-boat sailing, although individual members also organise activities such as coastal sailing and longer trips for those wishing to gain more experience. The one-day “Sunday Sails” are mainly in Zeeland, in the south-west of the Netherlands. For convenience our usual sailing area is the Veersemeer, although occasionally trips are made to other boat hire locations. Typically we will meet in Brussels on Sunday morning at 8am and drive up to Zeeland, sail in the morning and afternoon with a break for lunch; and are back in Brussels between 7pm and 8pm. The boats are small keel-boats (dinghy sized), normally with 2-4 people each.
See the FAQ ‘Which hire centres do we use?’ for information on where we go. Weekend sailing is organised several times a year depending on interest. These trips can take place in Zeeland or in Friesland. Coastal sailing trips are organised by different members from time to time. Again, if this is your area of interest, make sure you let us know. Our small-boat sailing trips are usually great fun. For beginners they are the ideal opportunity to learn the basics of sailing, and for the more experienced a chance to test your skills against those of other members.
